New and Established Patient Appointment Policy Information


NeurosurgeryOne at Interwest Rehabilitation offers specialty care. Treatment is offered by appointment only with a referral from a referring doctor, attorney, insurance company or their representative.  We cannot schedule patients without a referral, medical records, and insurance and demographic information in hand.  Once the information is received it is reviewed by one of our doctors and the patient is then called to schedule an appointment.  Should we find that we are not able to be of assitance to you we will notify your referring provider.


Prior to each scheduled appointment our staff verifies your eligibility with your employer or insurance carrier and requests medical records for the provider to review. Much time and effort is required to ensure that everything has been arranged for you scheduled appointment.  However, please remember, it is ultimately the responsibility of the patient to know their benefits.  Please be sure to contact your insurance company to ensure our office is in-network with your insurance.  You also need to know whether or not your insurance will require a referral from your Primary Care Physician.  


Due to the large volume of patients seen in our practice, and the effort involved in preparing for appointments, WE WILL ASSESS A $50 FEE FOR ALL MISSED APPOINTMENTS WITH LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE.

Failure to attend three scheduled appointments (by either missing or rescheduling without 48 hours notice) will result in termination of your care at Interwest Rehabilitation.

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?


Typically claims are processed by your insurance company within 30 to 60 days.  Once processed, we will send you a bill for any remaining patient responsibility.


Why am I getting bills from multiple providers?


​NeurosurgeryOne at Interwest Rehabilitation uses a team of dedicated professionals.  After having a procedure you may receive three bills:

One from our office for our services

One from the surgery center

One from the anesthesia company


Please note that the only billing we can assist with is our own. You will need to contact the surgery center or anesthesia company directly with questions regarding their services.



I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill - but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?


In this case it is best to contact a customer service representative with your insurance company.  The phone number for customer service is located on the back of your insurance card.




Are you in-network with my insurance company?


The best way to find out the information is to contact your insurance company.  We do our best to stay up to date with changes in the insurance industry but the only way to know for sure is to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card.

As the insurance industry continues to change please be aware that selecting an in-network physician is always the responsibility of the patient.  Knowing your benefits and whether or not you need a referral is also your responsibility.  We strive to help patients with these questions as often as we can but cannot ever quote benefits or cost estimates.
